  1.  Use a lint roller to do away with the hair, crumbs and crud on your carpet.

  3.  Treat stained spots with a mixture of vinegar and water. Then dry the affected area by ironing it through a towel.
  4.   In case of accidental spillage, rubbing can further spread the stain. So, abstain from rubbing and always remember to just blot away the liquid with care.
  5.     Make your own deep clean carpet cleaner by mixing up ¼ cup of white vinegar, ¾ cup    hydrogen peroxide, 2 tablespoons of dish soap, 5 drops of essential oil, and 2 tablespoons of fabric softener in one gallon of hot water. 
  6.     Combat oil stains with by applying baking soda on the affected area and vacuuming afterwards.
  7.     Baking soda can also be used to get rid of your pet’s urine smell.
  8.    Use rubbing alcohol in the case of spilled nail polish.
  9.    Your shaving cream can help clean dirt patches caused by high foot traffic.
  10.      Baking soda can spruce up your carpeting for a fresher feel.
  11.     To create a strong deodorizer, mix up Borax with 10 drops of essential oil. It’s harmless for your loved ones, and kills germs instantly. 
  12.     Vacuum your shag carpet only with the hose attachment to avoid damaging the weave.
  13.      Fluff up the high-traffic areas and worn out fibers with a vinegar and water solution.
  14.      Get rid of furniture impressions in carpet by placing an ice cube on the affected area and leaving it to melt. Then blot the excess water and dry with an iron-and-towel combination.
  15.     Minimize the damage caused by high-foot traffic by wearing (or having others wear too) a pair of shoe caps while on carpet.
  16.      Place area rugs where your carpet receives the most amount of traffic. You can remove these on special occasions to reveal the flawless carpet underneath.
  17.      Remove gum from carpet by placing an ice cube over it in order to freeze it, and then scrape off with the help of a spoon.
